Spur Gearboxes - Pittman spur gearboxes feature sintered steel gears to best compliment our offerings of DC brush and brushless motors. These gearboxes are integrated directly with Pittman motors to offer greater flexibility to the design engineer. Spur gearboxes are offered with sleeve or ball bearings, optional lubricants for extreme temperature operation, and Delrin Gears for reduced noise.

Planetary Gearboxes - Pittman planetary gears are perfect for servo applications where maximum efficiency, minimum backlash, and a smaller mechanical footprint are necessary. In contrast to spur gearheads, planetary gears share the load through a pinion (sun gear) over multiple mating gears (planet gears). Planetary gears are offered with plastic or metal gears and sleeve or ball bearing outputs

Cost effective feedback devices for positioning applications. Encoder technologies include transmissive optical and reflective optical. For maximum EMI and RFI noise immunity, differential line drivers with complementary outputs are available with most models as an optional configuration.

Power off, fail safe holding brakes to compliment the Pittman motor product line. When voltage is applied, the friction disk is released and the brake is free of torque. This power off brake is best suited for parking brake applications used to hold a load in position, and is ideal for creating brake motor packages for small frame servo and stepper motors.
